Back in July, I had a successful Kickstarter launch of my newest Pierce Mostyn Paranormal Investigation: The Color That Fell From Space.
Now the book is coming to Amazon, and if all goes well, to my own store early next year.
The book will drop on Amazon on or around October 1st. One can’t be more precise than that because Amazon isn’t more precise than that. One reason to have one’s own store.
Lovecraft fans will immediately catch the significance of the title. One might say the story is a continuation of HPL’s The Colour Out of Space. In another way, it shows us a completely different side of the Color. And thus, it is more than a simple continuation.
The Color That Fell From Space pits Pierce Mostyn and company against an alien so strange, so other, we never do actually learn what it is, or even fully what it is not.
The setting is the Nebraska Sand Hills. One of the most desolate spots in America. A place filled with ghost towns and lost dreams, a place of shattered hopes. A place very fitting for what might be the start of the end of the world.
Mostyn’s mission is to investigate the strange effects of the Color’s presence. However, Dr. Dottie Kemper quickly discerns that the real mission is to put an end to the Color. But how do you do that, Kemper demands to know, “when we don’t even know if the thing has a light switch?” How indeed? And therein lies the tale.
My critique group found the story to be an exciting horror thriller. And they don’t even read horror. That is a truly satisfying reaction for an author.
